Fire Alarm Systems
Fire alarm systems are usually installed to meet one or more of the following objectives.
• Protection of Life
• Protection of Property
• Protection against Business Interruption
• Protection of the environment
We can design, supply and fit all grades of fire alarms from simple smoke alarms through to fully integrated fire detection systems. Please contact us for further details.
- There are several different types of fire detection devices including ionisation smoke alarms for bedrooms, optical smoke alarms for hallways, landings, loft spaces and living areas as well as Heat Detectors for kitchens and garages. They are also multi-sensor types which are suitable for a variety of rooms. Please call for further information.
Carbon Monoxide is a potentially lethal gas emitted from solid fuel devices such as fire-places. Normally this gas is channelled out of the dwelling but various situations can lead to the gas inadvertently entering the building.
According to NHS figures, every year over 200 people are admitted to hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning which ends up being fatal to approximately 50 of those people. Carbon Monoxide is also odourless and tasteless leading to its reputation as a silent killer.
A Co Detector helps prevent these deaths by emitting a highly audible alarm on the detection of this gas and we would recommend fitting a detector wherever a solid fuel device is installed. From the 1st October 2015 Landlords have been legally obliged to ensure these devices are fitted where required. WCS can supply and fit these detectors and we would more than happy to discuss your requirements.

Emergency Lighting is legally required (by The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) to be installed in nearly all non domestic premises and Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMO’s). Article 14 (2) (h) of the RRFSO states:
“Emergency routes and exits requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in the case of failure of their normal lighting”.
WCS Electrical Contractors can design and install all emergency lighting systems ensuring that you comply with your legal requirements. Please contact us for further information.
